Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions and answers…

Do you take insurance?

Denton Chiropractors, FAQ

Denton Chiropractors are often asked… “Do you take my insurance?”

We are an in-network provider on most insurance plans including all the major insurance companies in the Denton area such as BCBS, Aetna, United Healthcare, Medicare, Cigna, HMO Blue, Humana and Secure Horizon and many more. What this means to you is getting the best insurance benefits at the lowest cost. Some plans require your medical doctor to give a referral to our office for the best benefits. That’s usually no problem getting the referral and we will help you on how to go about getting a referral. We will also send your medical doctor an initial report of the first visit findings including X-ray and exam findings, your major area(s) of complaint and treatment plan.

Once I start, will I have to go forever?

Many patients come to Denton TX chiropractor, for injuries as a result of a auto accident, sporting injury or just being a weekend warrior. These patients experience the pain relief from their injuries they were hoping for and are released after a reasonable time of treatment. Others come in with long standing chronic conditions. These folks receive the same high quality initial care but many elect to return to chiropractic care on there own because for the first time in a long time they know what “feeling good” is like again. We also have patients who only come in occasionally when they have a flair up of a problem. Bottom line is we are here to serve you our patients and make reasonable recommendations for care, but ultimately the final decision is always the yours.

Can someone who has had back surgery see a chiropractor?

Many times the answer is “yes”. BUT it depends on each individual case and what the details of the surgery were. First we will perform a detailed consultation and see what the patient knows about what was done during the surgery. We will request any MRI reports or any records that would help us make the treatment decision. Next if the individual appears to be a candidate for chiropractic it is critically important to do an examination and x-rays of the area of complaint.

Why did you become a chiropractor?

I am a Doctor of Chiropractic because I was first a patient. I was injured playing high school football. I was struck in my low back causing sharp stabbing low back pain. I could hardly walk after that. Like so many people I didn’t seek out any care I figured it would just go away. Over the next 4 months the pain did go away but the problem was still there. Finally after suffering from on and off chronic low back pain I went to an orthopedist when I was 25. Because there were fractures or dislocations his diagnosis was for me was to lose weight (wasn’t overweight) and move south. Finally a friend told me about chiropractic so I went to a one who used the Gonstead Methodology. The results were incredible! So much so I decide to go back to school and become a Doctor of Chiropractic using the Gonstead Methodology.
